本属は本種のみを含み、世界の熱帯、亜熱帯に広く分布する。日本では関東地方以南から知られる。南西諸島や小笠原ではマンゴーやグァバなどを加害している。横浜では７月頃に街路樹のヤマモモに多数発生しているのが見られる。体や翅が一様に褐色であることで他のアミメアザミウマ亜科から容易に識別できる。

This monotypic genus is widespread in the tropics and subtropics of the world. In Japan, this species has been known from the south of the Kanto-region. It is known as a pest of mango or guava in the Ryukyu Islands and the Ogasawara Islands. Many individuals occur on the leaves of Morella rubra at roadside around July in Yokohama. It can be easily distinguished from other panchaetothripine members by uniformly dark body including wings.
